Deborah Butler: After Rauschenberg

Join us Wednesday March 29th at 7:00 pm, Deborah Butler, retired art historian, painter and co-chair of Visual Arts, will present the work of Rauschenberg in conjunction with the exhibit in Phillips Gallery, After Rauschenberg. The influence of his work upon contemporary art and life is the subject of this illustrated talk.  Rauschenberg maintained a close relationship with Edison College in Fort Myers (today renamed Florida Southwest College), where Butler taught for thirty-four years and served on the Gallery Board.  Butler will present and illustrate his enduring global approach to art, his use of common objects and detritus in his work, and his use of photography in his work.
