Five nuns from the Little Sisters of Hoboken parade their talents at a variety show staged to raise money to bury their convent sisters – all of whom have succumbed to botulism after eating Sister Julia, Child of God’s, tainted soup. Nunsense is a wacky, wonderful, award-winner play sure to delight the whole family!

Lisa Bark (Sister Mary Leo)
Lisa hails from Minnesota and is excited to make her BIG ARTS debut! Previous Florida credits include Away in the Basement and Babes in Toyland at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre and Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof at Show Palace Dinner Theatre. Lisa has toured with a dozen productions over the last decade in shows such as the popular Church Basement Ladies series, and has performed Guys & Dolls in Italy and Sesame Street Live in Dubai. Favorite roles include Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre in Indianapolis, Annelle in Steel Magnolias at Old Log Theater in Minneapolis, and French Twist at the renowned Guthrie Theater. She earned a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Debra Thais Evans (Sister Mary Hubert)
Originally from Brooklyn, NY, she has been blessed to perform all over the US and Europe. Debra’s favorite “little miracles” (her nickname for the roles she was cast) include: Into the Woods (The Witch), Rock of Ages (Justice), The Color Purple (Sofia) and Hairspray (Motormouth) which she had the honor to do seven times, including a karaoke CD and the national tour. Many thanks to the Sisters and everyone who made this production possible!

Kelly’s previous credits include Marlafaye Mosley in Savannah Sipping Society, Officer Billie Dwyer in Unnecessary Farce, Jeannette in The Last of the Red-Hot Lovers, Nadine in Second Chances: A Thrift Shop Musical, Vernadette in The Dixie Swim Club, Berthe in Boeing Boeing, Mavis in Away in the Basement: A Church Basement Ladies Christmas, Jean Perkins in Funny Money, Mary Smith in Run for Your Wife and Caught in The Net, and Sister Robert Anne in both Nunsense & Nunsense II.
Samantha Rotella (Sister Robert Anne)
Sam is so excited to be back for the season on the Strauss stage! Originally from upstate New York, she has lived and performed on the island since 2003. Audiences may remember her from last season’s Holiday spectacular, as the not- so -subtle Vera in Stepping Out, and from the hilarious Musical of Musicals. Other past favorite shows here include, Rita in Lucky Stiff, Ronette in Little Shop of Horrors, Cindy Lou in Winter Wonderettes, and so many musical revues she lost count! Sam has a BFA in Theater for Youth from Shenandoah Conservatory. Thanks to Bobby for being her biggest fan, and her family and friends and her sweet 3 year old twin girls for all the love and support!
