Event Series Event Series: Zentangle Drawing Series

Experience the art of Zentangle®, a relaxing drawing concept that anyone can enjoy, one stroke at a time. It is a wonderful, meditative art form suitable for both beginners and experienced artists. Zentangle will help increase focus and relax the mind. Students will learn the history and concept of this unique art form and then create two paper tiles using Zentangle “tangles.”

This art form can easily be incorporated into card making, journaling, scrapbooking, and mixed media or most other art projects.

Zentangle is open to everyone, and no prior art experience is required. Zentangle is very portable and requires only a few supplies. All class materials will be provided (see below).

Donna Lee says, “I am a hands-on learner, so that is my style of teaching. I believe people learn best by doing. It is how I taught my students for 36 years and how I teach my Zentangle classes. Some background information will be given to explain what Zentangle is, the theory behind it, and how it came to be.  After that, the real fun begins as we put pen to paper and create something unique and beautiful, one stroke at a time. I enjoy the excitement and awe on people’s faces when they see their finished piece, as most people I have worked with have said, ‘I could never do that!’  It is rewarding for me to see their surprise and eagerness to try again.”

Instructor

Donna Lee Cole headshot. I have been teaching the art of Zentangle for about two years. I am a retired special education teacher. I took a Zentangle class in 2013 and immediately fell in love with it. Since then, I have taken more classes and done a lot of tangling on my own. I am now a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) and attended the CZT training seminar offered by the founders of Zentangle. I am delighted to now be able to share this art form with others.
