Master Artist Workshops

Two-day workshop. Monday & Tuesday, January 6 & 7, 2025 from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. In this workshop, students will experience the freedom of acrylics. Jane demonstrates how to paint with ease and confidence and how to enjoy acrylic paint to its fullest. She encourages the connection of the artist and their art to flow openly without reservation.

Two-day workshop. Monday & Tuesday, January 13 & 14 from 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM. Welcome Intermediate & Advanced Painters.  Have you wondered how artists paint vibrant yet translucent watercolor flowers? If so, this is the class for you! Each artist will be given a floral image to transfer to their watercolor paper.

4-day workshop. Monday, January 20 through Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Create dynamic art by starting 12 paintings (11×15”) with color, texture, pattern, gestural marks and more, on day one. This may seem like “chaos,” but it delivers vital beginning energy that is intuitive, necessary, and fun!

One-day class. Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Nancy has created pastel workshops helping art students with insightful knowledge to broaden their art skills and think like a master painter! Learn many of the tips and techniques of composing and designing your painting.

One-day class. Monday, January 27, 2025 from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. This one-day workshop is a simple fun approach to give a better understanding of drawing… All levels of students will walk you through many of the “basics” of drawing.

Two-day workshop. Monday & Tuesday, January 27 & 28, 2025 from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. This 2-day course will continue to develop your drawing skills and of course will help you with your paintings. Taking a bit more time to focus on 3-styles of drawing-illustration/rendering, contour line and figure drawing.

Two-day workshop. Monday & Tuesday, February 17 & 18, 2025 from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. The class will cover the basic principles of oil painting regarding classic seascapes. Learn how to build the wave, capture the motion of the sea, and better understand the colors in the water.

2-day workshop. Wednesday & Thursday, February 19 & 20, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM. As a fine art medium, colored pencil is versatile, inexpensive, and easy to master. Whether you are new to colored pencils or experienced with them, you will discover techniques for effective results.

4-day workshop. Monday, February 24 through Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Create texture and add depth to your paintings in this experimental workshop with Jean Pederson. Using a variety of acrylic mediums, you will learn to build up interesting surfaces and intriguing grounds that can be used within your paintings or as a base for finished work.

4-session class. Tuesdays, March 4, 11, 18 & 25, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. This course is open to artists of all levels with the caveat that one should have some experience in watercolor. Cheryl will present sketches and a finished painting, guiding the students through a step-by-step basis of the creative process approaching realism in watercolor.

Two-day workshop. Monday & Tuesday, March 10 & 11, 2025 from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. New Workshop!  Class will cover the basic principles of oil painting regarding painting Palms. Includes interesting and memorable discussions on composition, massing, building form, light and shadow: and depending on your own style, knowing when a work is finished (learning how to not overwork your painting).

Two-day workshop. Wednesday & Thursday, March 19 & 20, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Helen will begin this watercolor workshop with an exploration of shape using a collection of variously shaped objects of assorted sizes then applying paint to the paper surface in a somewhat arbitrary manner, paying attention to the use of harmonious and contrasting colors, while getting a feeling for the mood the colors and shapes suggest.
