In 2025, artists Shah Hadjebi, Marti Koehler, MariaPia Malerba, and Wilson McCray worked on a collaborative drawing inspired by Sanibel’s designation as a sanctuary island. Created over the course of three months, the 6-foot by 125-foot mural became a powerful expression of four distinct artistic voices united by a shared connection to nature. The completed mural will take on new life in the West Gallery, where visitors can experience this extraordinary collaboration from an entirely new perspective.
