This is basically a coiled pine needle class. However, you will start around a larger base (gourd piece or wooden disk). This will give you a wider base and easy start from which you will work the sides. There will be an assortment of natural items (seagrass, palm blossom, pine needles, tree roots, grasses, etc.) for you to choose from to incorporate into your piece.
You will be shaping your basket into a 5- to 7-inch-high vessel which you can decorate with seeds, wooden beads, nut slices and other nature items of your choice.
Your finished nature basket can become the holder of treasures and a beautiful accent piece to your home. No previous experience is needed for this class.
