Experience “the joy of painting” in Jane Slivka’s Acrylic Painting Workshop. In this workshop, you will experience the freedom that this medium has to offer. Jane demonstrates how to paint with ease and confidence and how to enjoy acrylic paint to its fullest. She encourages the connection of the artist and their art to flow openly without reservation.
Jane will demonstrate her painting techniques to create paintings that are vibrant and exciting. The workshop is presented in a relaxed atmosphere where you will be encouraged to explore your own potential. Jane “loves free expression, strong bush strokes and exciting colors.”
As a student, you can look forward to painting still life, landscapes, and figures. Jane says, “My students leave with more than a few canvases in hand; they leave with a sense of accomplishment, a new appreciation for their own abilities and the motivation to keep on painting!”
In a casual, charismatic and easy-to follow fashion, Jane challenges you to complete two different paintings daily – from a whole host of subjects – while teaching you how to capture that same freedom, energy and spirit seen in her own lively and acclaimed unique painterly style!

Jane transplanted to beautiful Mount Dora, Florida, in 2004. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she often dreamed of the ocean and the scenes she now creates for all of us to enjoy. Jane’s paintings, normally on oversized canvases, take onlookers through a journey of layered acrylics to discover a world beyond what the camera could capture.
Originally, Jane mastered the artistry of watercolors while she attended Endicott Junior College in Beverly, Massachusetts. She later graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Art Education. Studying for a semester in Florence, Italy, she gleaned much inspiration from the richness of the historical art and gorgeous landscapes. One day, Jane decided to try acrylics, and she felt absolutely liberated by the strong colors and the ability to layer the thick layers of textured paint. From that moment forward, she has been exploring, teaching, and motivating others to express artistically through painting with acrylics.
Jane now discovers new inspirations for her portfolio every day in the beauty all around her in Florida and in her travels. A truly gifted artist, she brings paint to life with ease and elegance. For the latest off the easel, visit her at her studio-gallery in historic Mount Dora.
