Grab a smock and dive into the fun and beginner-friendly world of alcohol ink mixed media art, no experience required! During this two-part workshop, you will learn about a popular solvent based dye called alcohol ink and get a taste of its many exciting functions.
Students will have the opportunity to experiment with the inks by dying and embellishing tissue paper sheets and then later adhering them to their choice of provided surface. Each project will be uniquely yours to dye and design, allowing students to leave at the end of the second day with a one-of-a-kind art piece to treasure.
No one fails in my class! As a teacher for the past 10 years, I often hear, “I’m not artistic” and “I can’t do art.” You will not only succeed but will leave my class feeling satisfied that you were able to overcome feeling uncreative and uninspired.

A former nurse with a lifelong passion for art, I have dabbled in many art disciplines throughout my life and in 2012 partnered with daughter Tracie in the purchase and running of Three Crafty Ladies on Sanibel Island. Prior to losing the shop in 2022 to hurricane Ian, I taught classes there for 10 years. I taught clothesline basket making and then in 2017 discovered a relatively new product my daughter added to our crafting section “alcohol ink.” My curiosity about this product led me to spend countless hours researching and experimenting with these inks, and I discovered it has endless possibilities! It has been a fun and rewarding journey, and I have taught many types of classes using this great product! But my latest class on creating tissue paper and collaging with it has been one of my most well received! It always gives me great pleasure to see my students light up after creating their own piece of unique art!
