Intro to Acrylics Instructor: Sunny Krchmar

Come and get inspired by an easy introduction to painting. Join us for 2-day, 3-hr sessions in which we will discuss and experiment with acrylic paints. This medium is very versatile and perfect for anyone new to painting. Some drawing experience is preferred, but not required.

Supply list:

Students should wear apron or clothes they don’t mind getting stained and bring a snack and a beverage.

Students should bring the following:

  • Brushes: Size 2 & 6 round
    • 1” flat
    • Fan brush (any size)
    • Palette knife
  • 9” x 12” canvas pad (10 sheets in a pad)
  • Plastic cup/bowl for water
  • Fine-tipped pencil for drawing, with good eraser
  • 1 roll of paper towels
  • Masking or painter’s tape
  • Paint palette or freezer paper (your choice)
  • Scissors
  • Paint: Your choice of brand, can be liquid or tubes
    • White, black, yellow, blue, red, green

Optional items you may bring but do not have to have:

  • Small spritzer bottle
  • 1 fine-tipped black archival/permanent marker (Sharpie brand or equivalent)
  • Masonite board to tape canvas on if you prefer
  • Any additional colors of paint or brushes that you may already own

Instructor

Sunny Krchmar headshot.Sunny Krchmar is an Estero-based artist. She has a fine art degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has been painting and exhibiting works in a variety of mediums for more than 28 years. Her pieces can be found in collections worldwide.

Although she enjoys working in all artistic mediums, her biggest passion in art is watercolor portraits. She enjoys the unpredictability and subtle impressionistic quality of watercolor. She is inspired by the beauty of nature and pastel colors. She paints commissioned watercolor portraits, teaches private art lessons, and sells handmade jewelry and cards. She enjoys assisting both children and adults in exploring their own creativity and inspiring others to enhance their skills.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made more than one week prior to the start of class will receive an 80% refund.

-Or- funds can be transferred to any other workshop of your choice during the current season.

Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable for cancellations made less than one-week (7-days) prior to the start of the class.
