For intermediate & advanced students with experience in both hand-building and the potter’s wheel.
Supply Fee: $65 each student. Includes 20lb. bag of clay, glaze used, a firing of artwork.
Students interested in expanding their pottery skills while creating functional ceramic pieces for their home or garden will create a collection of beautiful, functional planters designed specifically for orchids and succulents.
In this hands-on workshop, students will explore both wheel-thrown and hand-built techniques while learning how to design planters that support healthy plant growth and showcase their unique beauty. Participants will create a variety of planter styles, including hanging planters, wall planters, tabletop planters, pedestal planters, and planters with attached or separate drainage dishes. Surface decoration techniques will be incorporated throughout the workshop, allowing students to personalize their pieces with texture, carving, slips, and other surface design.

BIG ARTS Master Workshop Cancellation Policy: We offer a variety of workshops taught by nationally and internationally recognized master artists. Due to the contractual agreements with some of these artists, $75 of the workshop fee is non-refundable and non-transferable upon registration. Cancellations made more than one week (7 days) prior to the start of class will receive an 80% refund, less the $75 non-refundable fee. -OR- Your funds may be applied to any other workshop of your choice during the current season, less the $75 non-refundable fee. All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable for cancellations made less than one week (7 days) prior to the start of the class. -NOTE- BIG ARTS requires a minimum of 5 students to run this workshop. If the minimum is not met, BIG ARTS will cancel the workshop 7 days prior to the start of class and issue refunds.
