2-day workshop Fee $345 / $276 annual donors
Intermediate & Advanced painters, this information-packed workshop is designed to give a good foundation for bold, di-rect palette knife paintings. Participants can expect to produce at least one painting. Class starts with a demonstration focusing on the most direct and effective methods for painting strong, vibrant oils using painting knives and a limited palette.
Day 1: Jan Ellen starts with a painting demo on mixing paint and shows various techniques for the first half of the class. After lunch, the afternoon is spent helping students with their paintings. Students may use their own references or use one provided by Jan Ellen. The reference MAY NOT be another artist’s work.
Day 2: All day is spent with students working on their paintings. Jan Ellen will work with students offering suggestions focusing on individual needs and providing small demos as needed for instruction. A class critique will begin at 3:00 p.m. on the last day.

BIG ARTS Master Artist Cancellation Policy:
We offer a variety of workshops taught by nationally and internationally recognized master artists. Due to the con-tractual agreements with some of these artists, $75 of the workshop fee is non-refundable and non-transferable upon registration.
Cancellations made more than one week (7 days) prior to the start of class will receive an 80% refund. less the $75 non-refundable fee.

Your funds may be applied to any other workshop of your choice during the current season, less the $75 non-refundable fee.
