Workshops

2-day workshop. Monday & Tuesday, February 3 & 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. This workshop is designed for islanders and visitors alike who are ready to bring joyful art and sunshine into their lives. Sissi Janku will brighten your hearts and homes with a semi-abstract look at Florida’s birds this season.

3-session class. Wednesdays, February 5, 12 & 19, 2025 from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM. This class will combine beginning and advanced students. The procedures and techniques to be taught will include compatibility and testing, basic fusing techniques, annealing, and slumping.

One-day class. Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. This class welcomes artists of all levels, from beginners eager to explore their artistic abilities to experienced artists seeking to embrace a playful and whimsical artistic approach where they will learn the basics of sculpting with masking tape.

3-session class. Thursdays, February 6, 13, & 20, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This class will combine beginning and advanced students. The procedures and techniques to be taught will include compatibility and testing, basic fusing techniques, annealing, and slumping.

3-session class. Fridays, February 7, 14 & 21, 2025 from 9:30 AM – 12:00 AM. Join multi-level students for three sessions of watercolor painting in a relaxing classroom atmosphere.  Under Sunny’s guidance students work at their own pace using reference material provided by the instructor.

Two-day workshop. Monday & Tuesday, February 10 & 11, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Intermediate & Advanced Painters. Jan Ellen Atkielski, fine artist and popular instructor, will help you get “unstuck” in this 2-day workshop for intermediate and advanced painters who feel stuck on existing work and want to improve.

3-session class. Tuesdays, February 11, 18 & 25, 2025 from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Learn techniques for successful pastel painting. Work with an instructor experienced in the use of pastels to depict portraits and still life.

A place for inspiration! Artists generate ideas, but they need space and time to develop these ideas, and for visual artists, it all comes together in the studio. Join in during Open Studio once a month and use this time to work on your individual art projects while interacting with other artists.

One-day class. Friday, February 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Students will craft a breathtaking landscape that features a tasteful gold foil embellishment. The process begins by applying a tinted gesso underpainting to a 6” x 6” canvas, followed by a sketch of the scene, then carefully applying gold foil to the areas of the sky that require reflection.
